Plans for a new 72-bed care home in Eccleshill have been approved by Bradford Council, with the facility expected to create around 75 new jobs. The care home, to be built by Torsion Care, will be located on currently vacant land at Kimberwicke Walk, near Eccleshill Retail Park.

Job opportunities in care sector

The new care home will provide employment for approximately 50 full-time and 25 part-time staff. The roles will range across various functions within the care facility, offering both skilled and entry-level positions for local job seekers. The care home will cater to a growing demand for specialist "wet-room" care home beds in the area, according to the company.

Modern facilities and resident services

Torsion Care has confirmed that the three-storey facility will feature a range of resident amenities, including dining lounges, a hair salon, a wellness suite, an activity room, and a sports lounge. The site will also include a 23-space car park, and the development will be landscaped with 39 newly planted trees, enhancing the environment around the care home.

In a statement, the company said, "The proposal represents an inward investment that would make effective use of the undeveloped and vacant site and enhance this area of Bradford. Along with providing much-needed care home beds, the development will create valuable employment opportunities for the local community."

Once completed, the care home is expected to contribute significantly to the local economy, both through the creation of jobs and the provision of essential care services for elderly residents.
