Vital Energi, a leader in sustainable energy solutions, has opened a new office in Newcastle city centre, creating green job opportunities as part of its efforts to accelerate the North East’s journey to net zero.

Jobs in Green Energy

The new office at Portland House supports Vital Energi’s involvement in significant regional energy projects, including a £3.6m solar farm at Newcastle International Airport and a district heating scheme at Riverside Dene estate, which will reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty for 550 properties.

As part of its national expansion, Vital Energi is recruiting for a variety of roles in Newcastle, contributing to its broader goal of increasing its workforce by 50% over the next five years. This plan will see 400 green jobs created across the UK.

A spokesperson for the company said: "Newcastle is a key city for us where we see lots of opportunities, in terms of both talent and projects. We're part of an emerging industry looking for the next generation of skilled individuals to fulfil a number of roles, and have already commenced our recruitment drive in the region."

National Growth and Investment

Vital Energi is also expanding in other areas of the UK, opening a new office in Swansea and broadening its presence in Scotland. At its Blackburn headquarters, the company has completed a refurbishment to modernise the workspace and increase capacity.

Mike Cooke, Managing Director of Vital Energi, said: "Our expansion across the UK demonstrates Vital Energi's dedication to advancing the nation's transition to net zero. By opening new offices in strategic locations, we aim to develop, implement and own innovative, low-carbon energy systems."

A Growing Industry

Vital Energi’s investment aligns with government and local initiatives to meet net zero targets while creating high-skilled, green jobs in areas like Newcastle. This expansion reflects the growing demand for expertise in renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure, making it an exciting time for job seekers in the sector.
